Chapter 9: Nutrition, Exercise, and Weight Management

The Food and Nutrition Information Center contains more than 2,000 links and articles to current and reliable nutrition information.
USDA: Food and Nutrition Information Center
The website of the Harvard School of Public Health offers information on nutrition and exercise. Included are explanations of the importance of micro- and macro-nutrients, where these nutrients are found, an alternative food pyramid, and an explanation of the importance of regular exercise.

The International Food Information Council has thoughtful, well-written articles about nutrition, the U.S. obesity epidemic, and dietary fats. Many of the articles provide a historical context for their subject.

The Melpomene Institute, founded in 1982, helps girls and women of all ages link physical activity and health through research, publication and education.
