At this website, the Harvard School of Public Health offers a critique of the USDA's current food pyramid and offers an alternative pyramid that includes food recommendations in greater detail.
Review the USDA's Food pyramid guide (at www.mypyramid.gov or in your book), and then read the Harvard School of Public Health's critique of the food pyramid. How valid are these criticisms? How do you evaluate the proposed alternative pyramid?

This report from the AAFP describes the female athletic triad in detail, including what makes up the triad, how common it is, how it is diagnosed, and how it is treated.
Read over the report on the female athletic triad. Then create a poster designed to create greater awareness of the triad. Before you create the poster, think about what you have learned about the female athletic triad. Who will you make the poster for? What should the poster say? Don`t make the poster too complicated; focus on a single point, or two points at most, that you think is especially important. Be creative.
