Choose a psychological topic that interests you, and visit that section of the APA's Web site. Read at least three recent news articles about the subject (under "psychology news"), and write one-paragraph summaries of each article. How does these articles influence your perception of the psychological topic as a whole?

NIMH is the leading federal agency for research on mental health and behavior disorders. It features information about mental illnesses, national statistics, current research, and more.
Choose one of the mental illnesses on NIMH`s site and read the information there. Imagine that a very close friend or family member has recently been diagnosed with the disorder. What questions is he or she likely to have? What difficulties is he or she likely to face in her daily life? How can he or she cope with these difficulties? How do you think you could be of best help to your friend?
